As a Maintenance Technician II in our Building Operations department we offer a competitive wage range of $13.25-$14.25 based upon experience and in addition to your hourly rate we offer:

Position Summary:

To clean and maintain all owned and managed properties both public and private building surfaces, specifically windows, and to maintain them according to established guidelines. To provide customers with any additional services needed.  Working with the goal in mind of striving to exceed our customers’ expectations consistently.

Primary Functions:

  • Wash windows and adjacent surfaces as directed; this typically includes inside and outside of the first two floors of buildings. In some cases, additional floors may be included.  Utilize all necessary equipment i.e. ladders, extension poles, lifts and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • This position requires a sizable percentage of daily work to be performed outdoors, year-round and occasionally in inclement weather
  • Apply insecticides periodically to exterior surfaces
  • Power wash several types of building exteriors, interiors surfaces & sidewalks
  • Clean all surfaces and related duties as needed
  • Provide a safe & healthy environment for fellow co-workers, general public and one’s self.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performing the essential functions, this position may require you to perform bother supportive duties and responsibilities. They may include but is not limited to:

Assisting Maintenance Technicians to perform general maintenance and repairs as needed such as:

  • General lighting
  • General maintenance to building envelop interior & exterior
  • Painting
  • Complaint resolution
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Assist as needed with removing snow from sidewalks using snow blowers and/or shovels and spreading snow-melting chemicals.

Other:

Regular attendance, as determined by HPS, is essential to the successful performance of this position.

Due to business needs, the person in this position may be required to work varying schedules, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Compliance with HPS rules and regulations is a condition of employment for the safe and efficient operation of facilities

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations using some combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to read/understand & follow instructions given verbally, or in writing, in English
  • Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom may be demanding
  • Effectively work in and around the public; perform physical labor; maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population
  • Be a part of creating an atmosphere of trust, respect & cooperation among team members
  • Ability to climb a ladder safely, must have good balance and the ability to work at heights
  • Must be able to work using various cleaning chemicals, learn safe chemical handling in addition to learning the proper use of protective equipment i.e. safety glasses, ear/noise protection, gloves etc.
  • Individual will be expected to be a self-starter, self-motivated be able to work productively and independently with minimal supervision once trained

Qualifications Requirements:

Education:       High School Diploma or GED preferred

Experience:     None

Licenses or Certificates: PA Driver’s License (preferred)

The maintenance department functions five days a week. In addition, this is a service business, and a professional service atmosphere must be always projected.
